Most recently her research on newspaper place-based representation of Haiti entitled “Voodoo, Zombies, and Mermaids: U.S. Newspaper Coverage of Haiti in 2004” was published in the Geographical Review in April 2009. Amy has also conducted research in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans while also taking part in service learning there. She hopes to publish her findings on community rebuilding within the coming year.
